What do we do, exactly?
A thing or two about NetNada.
Before we dive into the details of how to achieve specific things with NetNada, we wanted to take a few moments to explain some core concepts that will make it 100x easier to understand our product.
Our vision is Democratising sustainability
NetNada is a different way to think about sustainability and how it fits into your business and your practice.
It's an AI first software, something that is built from the ground up thinking about the future of technology and how we can support you on driving your goals (and the planet) forward.
We know that each industry is different, and we want your expertise embedded into the tools that you use. We want you to take the models, the knowledge that you've accumulated over the years from your spreadsheets into a digital system that can empower you and your clients clients to achieve what they want.
Who's behind NetNada?
This exact words are being typed by me (Afonso here, NetNada cofounder breaking the 4th wall 👋).
The company was founded by Lochie and Afonso during Covid and quickly gained traction.
This led to the investment of the University of NSW, Australia and Skalata Ventures.
Amongst a few awards, some hiccups, and smart people, we've grown NetNada to be a company that supports 100s of businesses tackle sustainability.
These include helping businesses who are not quite sure what to do, all the way to global companies like ZIP and securing partnerships with banks such as TSB.
Our goal: democratising sustainability.
What do we do, exactly?
NetNada is a platform of multiple products. Specifically, we are a Sustainability Operating System. Ok now you understand it perfectly and no further explanation is needed.
Just kidding.😅 Let's spell that out further.
NetNada helps businesses with carbon accounting and sustainability reporting.
First, let's talk about what we mean by Carbon Accounting. For us, carbon accounting is about measuring emissions that can be used with confidence (aka no greenwashing or mistakes). Either to share with the world or guide your decarbonisation journey.
Next, let's talk about Sustainability and Climate Reporting. If this catches your attention then you mean business. This is about ensuring that you can meet mandatory reporting requirements, answer those questionnaires from your biggest client, and win your next enterprise customer. It goes beyond carbon and covers Governance, Strategy, Risk, and Targets and Metrics.
How NetNada fits in?
We believe that sustainability needs a system. We have all this awesome tools for finance, project management, content creation but what about measuring impact and implementing change?
Collaborative: sustainability is not a 1-person job so NetNada needs to be built in a way that can be used by many. From sustainability experts and consultants all the way to board members (that sits on 10 other boards)
Auditable: doesn't matter how well you work, if you can't have others say 'this sounds about right' no one will listen. NetNada handles the second part.
I thought NetNada was just a carbon calculator? Aren't they everywhere?
Carbon calculators are everywhere. Which is good (and bad).
As people with 'sustainability' in our Linkedin title, we've been inundated with many, many ads about carbon calculators.
Because carbon calculators are everyone they are bringing the price down (for you!) but it also can give you decision paralysis and get stuck into a void of not implementing one in your system. On top of that, most seem like they work, but you will quickly find out that the glossy website and pitch deck doesn't really match your needs.
Luckily we are more than that.
So, what is NetNada? And why do you use this term NetNada OS?
OS stands for operating system.
We are the backbone of your business sustainability. You can use us to get a quick estimation, an audit ready GHG aligned carbon inventory, create a risk policy, or track how far you far from telling your CFO that your annual sustainability report is ready.
Is NetNada for me?
Typically NetNada is used by anyone who deals with sustainability matters. Because that is broad, we decide to list the typical people that deal with our product.
Sustainability teams: take on the bulk of the work and have been task to own 'all of sustainability'.
Finance teams: at it most basic level they provide data to run emission calculations. At the other end of the spectrum they model ROI of certain initiatives and projects.
Procurement teams: manage data requests to suppliers when sustainability teams asked them to.
Consultants: either they manage NetNada end to end (hey, we are looking for partners 💛) or you can bring them along for certain parts.
